this unique and
fragile ecosystem combines brilliant white sand with colourful soft coral, warm shallow water and an abundance of marine life. Perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, glass bottom boat tours or just relaxing on the beach.
Our second destination is to the Outer Barrier Reef, where we have our own exclusive mooring at Breaking Patches, called Paradise Reef (hence no crowds). Here you will find the beautiful hard coral gardens that the Outer Reef is famous for.
Passions of Paradise is an award winning boat,
and most recently won the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Queensland Tourism Awards
Our aim is to provide a personalized experience on a fun boat, with great staff, excellent coral, and value for money.
..... We look forward to taking you to the reef !!!.....
Passions of Paradise II is a truly special sailing vessel. Designed by the renowned Sydney naval architect Grahame Parker and constructed by Jarkan Yachts. She was purpose built to operate out of Cairns to sail daily to Micaelmas Cay and the Great Barrier Reef. Completed in November 2003, she is fast, comfortable and bristling with the
most modern high performance electronics, deck
and sail hardware.
The brief was to build a boat which made a trip to the reef exciting and fun, yet retained a classy and comfortable feel. Built out of core cell (composite) fiberglass she is also very light which enhances her sailing capabilities.
No matter what the weather conditions, she will adapt. Strong winds mean exciting performance and less travelling time and calm winds mean a spacious comfortable platform to soak up the sun.
At 25 metres length overall and with a beam over 10
metres, she is one of the largest commercial sailing catamarans in Australia. More Info:
