What's more, all Deep Sea Divers Dens training facilities are under one roof, which is one of the many reasons Deep Sea Divers Den has earned it's PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre status and PADI Career Development status - one of the highest ratings awarded to any Dive store as recognition of continued Diver training excellence. With daily Liveaboard departures available, Deep Sea Divers Den offer the certified diver or snorkeler the most flexible diving itinerary OceanQuest caters for Snorkellers, Certified and Introductory divers. The Diving / snorkelling Deep Sea Divers Den have 14 Permanent moorings on the Outer Barrier Reef (including Norman and Saxon reefs) that ensure minimal damage to the pristine coral formations. You may stay from as little as 2 days and 1 night. The most popular trip is the 3 day/ 2 night option. However, passengers are transferred daily by ReefQuest, so you may stay as long as you like.
3 Day Outer Reef Liveaboard Onboard Pro Dives Scuba Pro This 3 day liveaboard dive and snorkelling adventure is unmatched for experience and value and will show you the very best the Outer Great Barrier Reef has to offer. There is no doubt that the best way to really experience the Great Barrier Reef is to stay out there for a few days. You get much more time to relax and really enjoy yourself and ultimately more time for diving and snorkelling. It is also much better value than day trips or other liveaboard options. You'll get to participate in up to 11 dives, 9 day and 2 night, or as a snorkeller you'll get to experience a large variety of fantastic outer reef locations. Pro Dive have 16 exclusive dive sites on 4 different outer reef locations and we visit a selection of these sites on every trip. These sites have been selected for their variety and quality of both coral and marine life as well as great visibility. We rarely dive the same site more than twice. Pro Dives 3 premium, purpose built, multi million dollar dive vessels provide the ideal way to stay out and experience what the reef has to offer. These vessels are 25 metres (80 feet) in length and feature 14 twin share and 2 double cabins with private amenities for every 2 cabins. The vessels are centrally air-conditioned, light and airy. There are 2 large decks, one for gear and one strictly for sun tanning and relaxing. These vessels are the only purpose built outer reef liveaboards operating in the area. Our new purpose-built dive vessel was launched in January 2004 setting a higher standard in dive travel. The famous Cod Hole attracts divers from all over the world combined with the Shark Feed at Osprey Reef is certainly a dive trip of a lifetime.
Osprey reef in the Coral Sea is one of the most spectacular dive sites in the world. Offering a diverse range of shark life all year round and pristine soft coral unlike anything you have ever seen before. On our shark feed dive, you are more than likely to see anywhere from 10 to 70 sharks at a time. Some of our most frequent visitors include: Grey reef sharks (AKA Grey Whalers), Black tip reef sharks, White tip reef sharks, Wobbegong sharks, Epaulette sharks and the larger Oceanic Silver Tip sharks. Hammerhead sharks can sometimes been seen at North Horn in late winter and into spring of each year. During June, July and early August we have the Dwarf Minke Whale Season each year. Taka Dive passengers travelling during this time have the opportunity to contribute to the research of these whales. We team up with the James Cook University researchers, and record all sightings of these fantastic mammals. All passengers who have had interaction with the Minkes fill in a questionnaire, which helps to further research. Diving with these majestic creatures will be the most exciting and momentous experience of your life.
The amazing sightings are not limited to the Coral Sea, this year along the Ribbon Reefs the diving has been spectacular. Frequent sightings include various Nudibranchs, Manta Rays, Giant Australian Cuttlefish, Loggerhead and Green Turtles, Moray Eels, Red Flame File Shell, Lionfish and the best Marine life the Great Barrier Reef has to offer.
