In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water (Diving the Reef) getting the background knowledge along the way.
Earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification is just the beginning. As a certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure and uncommon tranquility await you. And, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities expand.
Number of Dives: Five Confined Water Dives and Four Open Water Dives
Knowledge Development: Five sessions
Prerequisites: 12 yrs for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 yrs for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water. (In Australia, Complete a Dive Medical)
Reading materials: PADI Open Water Manual and, Log Book.
Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge and wetsuit. This equipment is supplied by the Dive Centre and is included in the price.

Our most popular and most recommended Dive Course option is the 5 Day Learn To Dive Liveaboard Course.
Pro Dives' training centre is located in the city of Cairns and features all the
modern facilities need to learn to dive. Pro Dive also boast Cairns deepest dive
pool. At 4.5 metres in the middle students get and excellent idea of what
pressure feels like under water.
The first two days are
spent learning the theory and underwater skills of diving.
The next 3 days are
spent living on board one of our premium purpose built vessels. Your first 4
dives will complete your open water certification and then as certified diver you are able to undertake up
to 5 more pleasure dives. This includes a night dive! These dives
will be exciting and truly memorable. The night of your return to Cairns, join
the crew and fellow passengers for a farewell dinner at a local
restaurant.

If you prefer to sleep in the comfort of your luxary hotel or
resort than this is the option for you. This PADI 4 Day course spends two days
diving the outer reef onboard Reef Quest returning each afternoon at around 4:30
pm.You will complete your PADI Open Water certification course in 4 Days with
the first 2 days spent at the training centre learning in the pool and
airconditioned classrooms.
If you don't have the time to do a 5 day course or would prefer a land based
Learn to Dive course then this course is the ideal option for you.
Day 1 and 2 are spent at our modern, purpose built training centre learning
the theory and underwater skills of diving.
Days 3 and 4 are spent on one of TUSA Dives fast and modern day boats where
you'll complete the 4 training dives required for your PADI Open Water
certification. You'll return to your accommodation in Cairns each evening.
NOTE - You will have a different dive instructor for the 2 days of diving on
the boat from the one you had in the pool.
The 6 day Liveaboard option is designed for those wishing to get the maximum
amount of diving and experience in a very short time. You get the entry level Open Water Certification AND the next level - the
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification. You get :
4 training dives for the Open Water Course
5 training dives for the Advanced Course
4 pleasure dives
That's a massive total of 13 dives (including 2 night dives!)
